How do i use Ethereal?

I've heard rumors about ethereal house rules and such, i can't be ethereal then attack someone right? Because of a bug the spell won't be canceled or something? I'm so confused could anyone give me the Ethereal rules please, possibly a dungeon master.

There are certain spells that don't break Etherealness that should - mostly Sundren-custom, like Wracking Touch or whatever the save-or-die for Wizards is called.

I don't think anyone would get mad if you went to an easier area and tested the spells you use regularly to see if there's any you shouldn't use from Ethereal.

As Lotus' post says - casting hostile spells from Ethereal is fine, just make sure the spell isn't bugged to not break it, first!
