  • What's that feat called?

I encountered a feat two days ago that allowed a character to use his or her CON to determine their will saves instead of their WIS.

Can anyone remember the name of this feat?

    Cheers!

Ugh, no auto fail things make me a sad bunny.

I dunno, not having a 5% chance to fail "just because" seems to not be that broken to me. Otherwise, statistically speaking, ancient dragons could easily be slain by having 20 level 13 wizards cast finger of death on them. I've never really liked the 20 auto-make 1 auto-fail rule but maybe I'm an outlier.

Not always the case, I rolled a 1 and was like, "I have that feat so I'm ok.", and the Dm said "Dm OVER RULED, your bleeding out of your eye sockets" laughs

The whole increments of 5% is kinda large for some things. Imagine a fort save VS cancer, and suddenly one in twenty people is guaranteed. I rather like the "roll again if you fail" ones, since it breaks it down into smaller - but still possible - percentages.

Man, I wish lethal-cancer cases were that low.

                    Let alone just confirmed cases.

What you SHOULD be looking at, is the chance of getting an infection walking through a swamp with open wounds. (Chances are, if you're in mossdale this is the case, not even accounting for HOW putrid and vile the swamp is.)

In fact, every case of called fortitude save in NWN2 is a result of poison/disease/magical contact, not just a product of random chance to every living person.

Pretty sure the heal spell would cure most of those horrible real-world ailments, like a Stargate sarcophagus. So as long as you were wealthy enough you could survive just about...my god, it is just like the real world!

That rule is banned banned banned in our campaigns. Only Reflex saves auto-fail on a 1.

The situation above is only one of the many possible hilarious outcomes. How about a Silent stilled dominate person cast 50 times until the Emperor/High Priest/Archmage rolls a 1?

My 1st DM said he followed the 20-20-20 rule where if someone somehow rolled 3 20's in a row it was an auto-kill. When he grew sick of my wizard (a transmuter back in 3.0 when haste/slow was a game changer) he told me he was going to send 4,000 level 1 peasants after me so that one would likely make that roll. I always had cloudkill prepared after that..

I can understand how once in a while the least likely peasent can do something incredible, ie david vs golith idea.. is it possible that if a 20 is rolled there needs to be a "re roll" much like a critical hit?
lets face it, there are stories all through out the real world where this would happen.. high school basket ball 3rd string player sinks a basket from one end of the court with no time left... just an example.. once and a while the least likely person lucks out and dose something incredible (good or bad) and has their 15 mins of fame. but a 5% chance of it happening on everything you so Is a little much.
