  • Untidiness IG...use trash cans! Please :)

Several times now I have entered areas unpopulated..less heaps of trash people have dropped. Where have I found it? Next to a merchant because he didn't accept the goods.

In the long run such doesn't count much against the lag, but please can't we just keep it, walk the extra minute or so and find the trash can? Or even better, don't pick it up in the first place?

Noticed that the merchants also should have a clean-up script on their inventory, because at times i can see them have a TON of redundant stuff. Like 40+ copper rings...who will ever buy that?

    ...

We can turn this into a RP opportunity. IRL, when people leave their trash on the ground, they get fined for littering. Perhaps if a DM sees someone dropping stuff from their inventory (Not sure if you want to include stuff people don't pick up from corpses), a DM can fine someone. Could be small, or substantial (10% of current coin). I know that would hurt me. Would be fun if someone approached and said, "I saw you drop that weapon on the ground, I'm issuing you a fine". I know what Jasper's (Ewan Rice) reaction would be.

If I saw someone doing it I would use both really. First RP, then gently whap em over the head in a tell

      Good point though

If you add a clean up thing for merchants some good items might be unavalible for players to buy that someone sold to this merchant.

I think usually, they are 0 gold worth of items that are being dropped on the ground.

May be we could make the merchants take on 0 gold worth of items at 0 gold, even though the players will make no profits from this, but it is a convenient to make the players litter less.

And I'll repeat what I've suggested already. Trash cans should pay out a gold piece for each item they trash.

Oooh, then we can have bums! People walkin around going through junk on the ground trying to find "valuable" stuff to turn in. Hehehe

Possubly so, but the merchants at times carry insanely amounts of stuff, and that I think contributes to lag. I MUCH rather see less lag than tons of stuff to choose from. Besides the really good stuff rarely is sold anyhow

One way would be for the script to kill duplicates?

If this is correct for NWN 2..that may be a problem. How many stores are there IG? 8? I can usually go IG and check 3 of the quickly and find several pages worth of items on all of them.

The lag caused by the stores may not be so much compared to that of the random packet sending or whatever it was, but in the end it is there and should be taken care of. Lag=EVIL

It would be helpful if there were trash cans in every store. Don't remember seeing any in the sages.

There are quite a few areas lacking trash cans... I vote for more trash cans. Oh, and bring on the dumpster divers!
