  • Temple of Akadi

So Ive been a long-time Akadi fan but I would love to hear peoples opinions of a temple of Akadi before I start off a project that I've been thinking about for a while.
My main concern is simply that Akadi is all about travelling, and being tricky or what have you.
So, would a Temple of Akadi be to contradicting with the Deities beliefs and ideals in order for it to work? What do you think?
But please, ignore this if there is one on the server already and I just havent been able to find it :3

We have so many temples of so many faiths. I'd rather see more areas to explore first.

Certainly, but still I wonder if you think that a Temple in itself, not here or anywhere really would be to controversial when looking at the ideals of Akadi?

        Temple: I'd hazard no.
        Shrine? Possibly, but nothing big.

Sundren is pretty tiny, and we have a LOT of religious groups here.

Mhm..Yeah maybe. I could imagine one. It was just a thought I figured I might share for feedback. Thank you Is one of these shrines already built somewhere in our playable world? I have yet to see it but I have also yet to explore many things in Sundren as I cant access every area yet.

I think a better approach for temples is to have them as multipurpose for gods with shared portfolios. It would save space and open up some interesting RP encounters. Does this occur in Faerun?

*points at the Temple of the Triad*

Snarkiness aside, I think it does, to a degree or another: If the clergy are on strongly allied terms and space is limited, it makes some sense to have a presence with good allies than risk the inability to tend to the common folk and protect them from aggressor clergy. Though they would probably share the building and each have their own sections. Just my speculation.

Yeah that could be a good solution aswell!
Perhaps the Alignments could also make for good groupings?

Yes, quite often. Especially where gods mingle.

Having pantheonic temples and shared spaces makes an awful lot of sense for allied deities and/or priests.

Akadi is definitely one of those deities who would eschew the formal traditional temple, clergy and structured prayer meetings setup. You might find shrines or totems occasionally (she has a small following) but even those I'd largely expect to be seasonal or temporary.

The exceptions might be the result of an occasional "life experiment", if a cleric was to construct a vast and complex set of wind pipes that played a haunting and unique melody only when the first autumnal zephyrs blow in then that might conceivably become a popular place to visit, at least when the winds are right.

Otherwise expect itinerant priests going where the wind and whims dictate.

Finally, no, there is no shrine or temple to akadi on the server.

Do it up Skyrim style, just put a bench with little markers to a bunch of gods in a row, and you can pray buffet style.
I can't slow down, I can't hold back though you know I wish I could. No there ain't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good!

Yeah, but the door is always locked.

And Oblivion used to have the temples where you go in a horseshoe for your nine daily prayers.

I couldn't find the print out for it but I remember reading that Akadi has shrines mostly on known travel routes, mostly built so travelers can pay homage for safe travels, and sometimes you could find them on semi-known shortcuts through areas.
