Arcane Scholar no longer playable?

Apologies in advance if I have missed any info this (or just being plain thick) but I had a good search of the site/forums and couldn't find anything on this.

I used to play an Arcane Scholar of Candlekeep and was thinking of recreating that character but it doesn't appear (to me) that the class is available any longer as it doesn't appear on the character creation screens (I know its a PrC by the way) and its not on the wiki as a playable class but I can see that people are playing them from the stats page.

However its not on the wiki list of classes that are no longer playable.

Just wondering what the deal was with this class?

The class was changed to be faction based, which means if you wish to take the class, you must be in the faction.

It was revamped into the Hand of Mundus class due to the rarity of actual Arcane Scholars and the presence of Hands of Mundus in Sundren. You know, as opposed to the former. Which there isn't.

Just be wary of taking Mystic Theurge if you want to take levels of Hand of Mundus. The Wiki may not have been updated yet, but those two classes are mutually exclusive.
