  • Quick question on Good vs Evil here...

I remember back in the day we use to have maybe that 1 or 2 special character that ran around, plotting the destruction of sundren. When i came back for abit, it was around the time of Vampires were popping up and everyone had to be one, So there was alot baddies around.

I'm wondering how the balance seem to be now between Good guys vs Bad guys.

Plenty of good guys and bad guys. There's also neutral and "neutral."

    Hope this clears things up.

Ayup, what he said. Pretty balanced overall, although sometimes there are timezones with weight one way or the other, so the overall alignment can (and will) shift throughout the day.

      Does "neutral" include economists?

Lawful evil. We create a set of rules by which we think the universe runs and advocate them, even when it causes immense pain and suffering. ^_^

Anyhow, I'd say that the Bad Guys(TM) currently have an edge plotwise, as there are not very many active heroes that can challenge a fully armed and operational vampire. They exist, but they're just not around as much. Additionally, the taking of Sestra gave them a big plot boon, as they now have a location on the ground, merchants of considerable quality, and all the advantages that come with actually holding territory.

However, they're definitely not having everything their way, and numbers-wise, Team Good is at least as strong in active high-level characters. There's also the upside that Sundren City itself is pretty impregnable and the good guys' Sestra equivalent, Port Avanthyr, is very well-defended.
Adama who was once called Adama Hrakness, sacred paw of Mielikki

Lihana Farrier, Paladin of Torm and noble dalliance

On Hold: Alandriel Ward, Actually a Vampire Groupie
Retired for Good: Tamryn Jorandur, Hano's Wife and Conflicted Soul

Thats good to hear, i remember when they were asking some people to play evil characters because we we're lacking them badly. Nice see they have their own area, i have a good idea now what to do for a character and it one i wanted to do back in the day before i had my Shapeshifter.

Its been pretty back and forth as of late. I've jumped on the client to see a high majority of evil characters on, log off, then jump back on hours later to see a squad of paladins hanging out and one evil dude hiding off to the side.

When it comes down to it, play what you want and what you'll enjoy because whats common tends to change.

I think more importantly is that they are uniting on both sides which warms my heart *Wipes tear away*.

After this load of work I gotta do on a major update and when we get this City Stat system together, I'll probably be pushing forward some major events for both sides.

Just go evil, it's easier that way.

Evil, Good, Neutral, Chaotic, Lawful.. There's a ton of possibilities to be had on the server and you're pretty sure to find somewhere to fit in regardless of where you sit on the alignment scale.

Don't listen to the tiresomely negative.

I entirely agree! I'ld advise sticking to positive intergers if your looking for a more natural feel. Or you could try multiplying by the square-root of negative one if your looking to play a complex character. Although if you listen to all the 'real' players you'd think we were imaginary.
Just please don't be irrational, those just go on, and on, and on. . . .
                              [Edit] Case in point:
