Is it just me or is it exactly the same as True Sight but one level lower, longer duration and cheesily not of the Divination school (thus bypasses specialist mages' restrictions and gets rid of their only disadvantage).

Same goes for Blindsight. Seems to be better than See Invis from what I can tell.

nope. True-Sight is the only one that can punch Sanctuary effects like Etherialness

Sure, but since you still can't attack anyone under the effect of Etherealness that doesn't seem to constitute a major difference.

For all intents and purposes they are the same. Except if someone is trying to sneak past you Ethereally, then you can be like "Hey you! I can see you!" but can't grab/hit/attack them in any way regardless.

Unlike Blindsight, which can make the user immune to magical darkness, Truesight can pierce illusions and see through polymorph/shapechange. In that way they serve separate functions.

While mechanically it may seem that Dragon Sight is superior in term of duration for detecting an invisible creature, by what I read in my 3.5 Spell Compendium it gives you low-light vision, darkvision, and blindSENSE. Yes, you can target a creature in the square that you know it to be at, but technically you don't know anything about the creature's appearance. It may as well be a friendly refugee seeking escape from a persistent hunter, or a dangerous assassin seeking your end. See Invisibility actually lets you view and identify the creature. True Seeing does that, and also lets you pierce through illusions and shapechanged disguises. For combat purposes, Dragonsight does its job, assuming you were there to see a creature slip invisible and then keep tabs on its location through blindsense. For roleplayed scenarios, it falls far, far short of its mark.

            Edit:
Double-checking the in-game description, it does mentions that the spell permits 'see invisible'. Shenanigans. Unless this is just in-game shorthand for 'ability to detect presence of invisible creatures', which I personally prefer to see it as since there is no blindsense ability scripted into NWN2, I personally prefer to keep Dragon Sight as just the ability to tell the presence of an invisible creature, rather than specific details about it. Just my own personal take on it, I guess.
