  • Nit-Pickers! I want you!

    Hey folks!

As indicated by the fancy green letters, I have rejoined the Dev team. I'm not a scripter, though; I'm a mapper and fixer-of-little-things.

    So!

If you see a floating tree, or notice a spelling mistake, or find anything amiss DESIGN-WISE, please post here! I can't (yet) fix scripts or change anything quest-related, but I can help clean up the little things that still might annoy someone somewhere.

    What I'll need is:

►Map Name or Decent Description (The Second Wind Inn - Upstairs)
►Location of problem (Outside Room Three)
►Brief description of problem (Painting Stuck Sideways in Wall)

Want bonus FoogooFish points? Post a helpful screenshot!

I can't guarantee that everything posted will get changed, as it might be Working As Intended™, but I can promise I'll take a look at it!

    ~Foo

Second Wind Inn, inside room numero three. Painting and bookshelves are floating off the wall like David Blaine is animating them. He got his magic hands on the basket next to the armoire, too.

I'm not sure if the other rooms are the same way, sorry!

I'll take a look-see, but since LostInSpace did that area and is back on the team as well, I will pass-the-buck graciously defer to the original mapper.

A cursory glance at the other similar rooms proves that they are, in fact, the same way. I went ahead and turned the books so that they face the proper way, too. Fixed; look for the changes in a future update!

The new BH store in Sestra is selling Rings of Wizardy, which are the knock-off versions of Rings of Wizardry.

                Some suggestions/requests.

More fog (clouds) in the city of Sundren (all). Its in the sky and needs to start feeling like so. Remove rain and storms (if its even on) assuming the city is high enough to avoid such. Add an area you can look over the edge (probably a poor section of the city where maintenance is overlooked) to reinforce the floating city concept.

                  First suggestion: Fix this, PLEASE!

It's been bugging me for years:

There are literally TWO TREES THERE, one on top of the other.
[Edit]:Pioneer's Way - The Second Wind (outdoor); the tree behind the leanto. The leanto should give it away. :P

                  Secondly:
Please turn down Dain's Holiness factor at night.
It makes is hard to get a decent night's sleep with the glow of a small sun wandering around the valley.
Last edited by Kitsunestume; 08-14-2013, 02:54 AM. Reason: Seriously. . . that leanto is iconic. . . .

The sign above the door leading down in the 'Supply' room in the Legion Chapterhouse has experienced the aforementioned David Blaine treatment.

A lot of the Sundren specific weapons have a typo or two in them.

                      Broad Blade
                      Elven Great Blade
Kings Blade should be spelled King's Blade

Honestly the grammar in them all sucks as well.

More fog would be awesome, it's been implied previously that Sundren is at an altitude that gets quite a bit of cloud, personally I'd err toward the city being at around 4,000ft (1,200m), that way it gets to float around looking all cool amongst the fairweather cumulus but still gets rained on by the bigger stuff (or more importantly it isn't torn to pieces by the larger clouds. Being in big clouds is a really bad thing, being above them would mean everyone would need to using personal oxygen).

There are (or should be) several great places for this - Prime candidates would be the huge ass section of Cheapside that fell off during the city takeoff, or the old city docks (I had wild dreams of this becoming a port for ExiCorp derivatives of gnomish airships, or if we dail up the fantasy then hippogriffs).

For amusement and choice I present the before and after version of Sundren City, and what bits fell off.

Before - Surrounded by farmland, a small slum and contained within a wall.

After - Don't worry. It was only poor people, not real people.
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

Second the post about the Avanthyr West Walkmesh.

This already has a bug post but in Avanthyr East, the transition back to Avanthyr West does not work.

BTW, glad to see you back.
                            Cheers,
                            Dave

You have to manually walk to the transition point.
