Joining the Helmite church

Hey guys, just wondering if the Helmite church join quest actually works or not, I've been trying to locate the scum that have been bothering the poor owner of thrifty hides, but the only farm areas around exigo (the crossroads and the pit) do not seem to be revealing anything more nefarious than some hungry pussies.

I also noted that despite being on the join quest, there is no journal entry accompanied with it, which is why I thought I'd ask if this was a pointless exercise running all over the farmlands looking for brigands.

I believe the only functional join quest for a faction at the moment is for the Black Hand.
