Any buffs in sight for the shape-shifts? Especially since we can't transition with them? I mean, I see posts going like 2 years back about this PRC and how it needs help.

EDIT: How should I level one? Are ANY of the transformations combat worthy? I was going 9 druid 1 monk 10 momf.... Should i take 9 druid first?

EDIT2: Troll seems pretty combat ready due to regen.

OP, are you still around? I recently made a spirit shaman with no plans for a prestige class. She could probably fall in with the nature crowd pretty easily, if I can find one.

I've got a level 9 MoMF, and I can echo that. Troll shape is really quite useful early on when you don't have great gear and regen is something to over. Don't have any of the (true) giant forms yet, but Ogre is as decent at DPS as Troll is at tanking. It has a club to cast Flame Weapon on, doesn't screw your statblock, etc.

I get the feeling that it's later on when the MoMF really suffers, when other PCs are coming into their power and gear starts to really matter. Relying on others to buff you does not a good class make, and you can't use potions or items while shifted.

I think as a Master of Many Forms, you should be able to Drink Potions and Read Scrolls, since isn't MoMF the equivalent of NWN1 Shifter? Where the person doesn't have a true form anymore (Can't be seen by True Seeing when Polymorphed) and is fully themselves in every shape they take?

This is a limitation of the nwn2 engine I believe; for whatever reason, Obsidian decided that you shouldn't be able to have access to your quickbars or inventory when shifted, and unless the developers can figure a way around that (which I doubt) ... then I think we're out of luck.

I too mourn the loss of my shapeshifted quickbars.

On ToA when you were shapeshifted, you had Access to your Quickbars =o Well, spell wise that is... ( Does Sundren support Natural Spell and Guttural Invocations?)

Maybe it's because you don't become your character anymore, instead taking on the shape/stats/subrace of the polymorph. I know you retain your inventory, because when you pick items up whilst polymorphed, you keep them.

              Oh well though =(

Weh?! Really?! That would be a great boon for shapeshifters! I would support implementing if possible.

You can cast spells as a MoMF. You get natural spell free at the first level. You cannot, however, use any feats/items. As far as I know, the feat/item part is hardcoded.

The only way to do shifting properly is to completely do away with using polymorph and simply change someone's appearance and stats. There's a lot of things that have to be considered for this, and it is a major overhaul to this class.

It's a nice to have but with so many other things that would be a value to the community I don't see that happening in the near future, at least not without more people assisting in the development of the server.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Well, I just hit 12 with this class, and I have to say Argyle is literally impossible with the kit given atm.

But alas, there are more concerns then one class.

EDIT: Funny thing is, most people who I talked to all stopped at 12.

A character in a nature faction, with the ability to take the shape of any humanoid creature in the viridale would be a very powerful and influential character in the faction, and play a major role in the future of the faction. Communication, manipulation and possible trade with the gnolls, orcs, giants and goblins seems central to restarting the nature faction. But thats just my 2 cents, thoughts and ideas. Im sure someone with a DM badge can prove me wrong...

Well being manipulative is much different from being good in mechanical fights eh? (Or you know, not god awful)

Ok, so I'm pretty sure I just saw a MoMF running around as a Beholder. Which is awesome, but now I have two questions.

                              1) Why are they underpowered? Beholders have Disintegrate, Flesh to stone, and Antimagic (50th level dispel magic anyone?) eye rays! Granted in 3e onwards they aren't as scary since you have 95% chance to succeed on saves instead of <50% back in ol' 2e. If MoMF beholders don't have the eye rays, maybe giving them back would make the class a bit more viable?

                              2) Why are there no Beholders ingame?!

                                2) So they can run around saying "Behold! Beholders are in the eyes of the beholder!" wihout having to compete wih npc beholders.
