DM Special Report - Farming!

We've been hard at work trying to come up with plots to involve people. I know things have been mundane in the past couple of weeks, especially with a great many DM's on hiatus suddenly. We have a summon spell in the works to bring them back.

Now, an issue that is becomming more and more frequent. Players killing things, especially lower level critters that don't give experience, just for cash or whatever else. Way to abuse the system!

For all the legit players, this is a big issue for you. While you play normal, we have to take farmers into account when we balance treasure systems and such, which means less gains for everyone. It's not fair. I don't want to punsih good people for the bad'uns. So, bad'uns, stop it. Just knock it off. Don't make me have to rebalance treasure and go back to policing areas to catch people who are killing and killing for coins alone.

Be considerate. It's a free game, and our rules are simple, you break them and it means more unpayed work for all of us.

Sure, we all need pocket change now and then, I wouldn't snap on someone who goes out now and then to get some coins for some medkits or something. But I watch people run over and over and over and over the same places for 0 exp and then... they have 90k gold in their inventory. The -funny- part is, they always deny farming ^_^ I'm like "If you're not farming, then why are you killing stuff that's 0 exp with 90k gold?"

Well... that is bad. Because it will keep the DMs from putting more powerful things in shops. Or they make them more expensive.

Seriously... as GBX said - this hurts those players that do not spend their time killing things.

I'd suggest giving those with an overflowing coin purse and/or an extensive amount of other wealth (bought items, gems, etc.) less DM attention. Quite simple and it would destroy the fun of those that farm in the long run.

I remember in like 4 weeks of playing gathering around 8k and there's people going around with 90k... I think some "Overadventuring Tax" is in order... Sundren City can always use the extra 89k

There seems to be too types of encounters for my PC right now, asskickers that I have no chance in hell of defeating and crazy goblins and such who should run away in terror when they percieve him, but instead rush enmass to their painful deaths.

I'd like to see some more varied encounters as so far the only thing I've found challenging of late is in the Necropolis, and they are major tough for a low magic fighter to take on.
