Twinking

I was originally going to post this in the How do we save Sundren thread but it is WAY off topic so I started a thread. This would go a long way towards improving MY experience on Sundren. Less rampant TWINKING? (high level gear transfered to low level characters)

When I log in to DM there is nothing that kills my mojo more. I ask my self why bother creating stories if all the (level appropriate) rewards I can give are tawdry compared to what you are walking around in with ZERO effort. Sure a little boost for your friend is nice but it needs to be within reason.

Here is what I am going to do if I see your character has been twinked:
- I will tell stories with you
- I will DM for you
- arbitrate disputes
- address your concerns

What I will NOT do:
- give out rewards.
- help you create items

I am done slapping people on the wrists, taking gear, warning folks etc... If you want "stuff" from my time, then play with some honesty.

I know when I came on tonight it was the first time in a while but I personally havnt seen anybody twinking since WoW was popular (like 3/4 years ago for peops who dont know). People still do this on an RP server?

It was one of my characters that prompted this thread, though I suspect Acorn has seen this before and I was just the latest example.

This was an older character of mine that I hadn't played in a while and I am not even sure where he got the gear in question. When Acorn posted that there was a mossclaw event going on and asked for people to join in, I grabbed the only character I had in the server vault in that level range so I could participate.

I have already apologized to Acorn in a PM for spoiling his mojo. It was not my intent. Like I said, I saw his post and figured I could help by showing up. I was trying to be supportive and instead I ruined his fun and for that I publicly apologize. I just hope he knows my intent was to add to the story and fun, not detract from it.

I think this may be a leftover issue from the Time of Despair (fall '12 - winter '13). There was a span where there was little or no staff presence that we all know about, and sometimes when the cat's away, the mice will play. I think people were bored and, since leveling up was all that was fun during this period, twinks became a little more rampant. Hopefully, with all the current fun stuff going on, that will autocorrect over time

I don't know what a Twink is... if everything someone has is gotten legitly, more power to them.

If you cheated... well... shame on you.
