  • Becoming a DM?

My question goes way back before even applying to be a DM on Sundren. How can one begin to learn how to use the DM Client?

I fired it up for the first time today and it seems that you need some sort of server or password access to an existing one to even begin to learn to use the Client.
    Cheers,
    Dave

Your best bet would be to set up a standalone dedicated server on your machine. This link should help you to create a stand alone server. Once that is up and running, you can connecting to the server over local host (127.0.0.1) using the DM client.

Prepare to be underwhelmed - The DM client blows. That's why there were a lot of projects created to give DMs more tools. DMFI was a big one which sundren also uses so you may want to add that plugin after you get the basic server setup.
    Account Name: LuvHandles
Maneae StrongArm - Devilish Warrior Woman (Active: Finding her place after time in reflection)
Minael Cel'Anon - Elven Smith, Knight and Wizard (Inactive: seeking clues to lost elven artifacts)
Aria Duvaine - Wouldn't you like to know . . . (Inactive: Whereabouts unknown)
Ra'd Malik - Mulhorandi Warrior (Inactive: Off on a mission for the BH)
Khyron Brinsbane - Fury of Auril (Inactive: Working with Cwn Annwn)
Chazre Kenner - All around good guy with a penchant for revelry and chasing the ladies. (Deleted: Team Good, returned to Cormyr)
