    In PnP, when your familiar dies you permanently lose 1 point of Constitution, which is not recoverable in any way.

    I never summon my familiar because it has like 10 HP and 16 AC and I assume the same is true in NWN as PnP, but is that the case?

      I think you lose 2 constitutuin till rested. Isnt as harsh. They can be quite useful for a last ditch touch attack on a powerful boss

            For the most part, I only use my familiars for RP. I find them to be too much of a liability in the heat of combat.
