  • Intimidate Fail

Mechanically, what can cause an intimidate check to fail other than the pure numbers?

Recently, I targetted a druid and tried to intimidate him. I beat his score by 12, but it still said the attempt failed. I asked, and he said he was not immune to fear. My character was neutral, so PFE / PFG should not have influenced it either. Are there other factors involved?

Resist nature's lure doesnt show on the check. But that's still +10.

Must be a bug, I've looked all over the web and I cant see anything that could affect this. Perhaps PFE could be bugged if it was active?

That should be incorporated already into the opposed roll. Intimidate score v. 1d20 + level + WIS + mods, right?

Maybe abilities with a bonus v. fear mistakenly confer Intimidate immunity?

Maybe the engine treats druids as nonintelligent creatures?

More than likely, the person had immunity to fear from something and just didn't know about it. Ah well. I feel like it's a waste of a skill far too often.

intimidate is more then fear. I never felt it should always be lumped under the immunity in the first place..
