No. of classes....?

i believe in nwn1 a char was limited to only 3 classes if they chose to multiclass. in sundren and nwn2, is the same limit in place? ex: rogue/magic user turns arcane trickster. could that class add a second prestige class should the want too? i have noticed that some Prestige class only give levels up until 5th.. could they add a forth if they met the requirements?
