Query: say if I had found a +1 Longsword that did +2 fire damage and gave +4 to Will saves. Now, if I wanted to increase the enhancement bonus, say to +3, the craft system allows me to do that (somehow temporarily bypassing the 3 enchantment limit)

But what if I wanted to increase the 2 fire damage to 1d4, does anyone know if that would work?

Also, if it doesn't work would I be reasonable in assuming a DM can help me do it?

Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

I believe the current crafting system first does a check to see if there are 3 enchantments upon the item (3 being the max you can add) and if there are the three, as would be on this item, then you could not add another, even though it would presumably overwrite what is on there.

But Cornuto offers a good solution there.
