Village of barbarians you can influence? Hmm...shouldn't this be handled by a DM. If its just quest = influence then its basically encouraging people to grind that quest in order to gain favour. Also whichever faction has more players in it would easily "win" and be allies with the barbarians, even if though it might not make RP sense.

This would be a deteriorating thing, so your rep gain wouldn't be permanent. But it would give players something to compete for that made sense. And, the fact it doesn't need a DM to drive it is appealing to me. There aren't always DMs available; this creates conflict with characters alone.

Honestly, you know what I would want to see? A new human sub-race. We all know IRL there are different races of humans the same as there are different races of Elves in D&D. Why not try to add a more Barbaric ((Nordic style))human sub-race? And maybe some custom changes to the Barbarian class ((or new class altogether?)).
