Rolling Skills for Dummies... err.. those that don't know.

Currently the GUI is not working (although I'm sure they know that and are working on it in priority sequence - I expect it's at the bottom of the list ).

So...

Open your language bar, even if you can only speak Common

Select your language.

type in:
*roll XXXX

where XXXX is (not a very pornographic video but) a skill

Some skills have spaces, like Craft Alchemy in their normal iteration... but CraftAlchemy (caps not needed) is what you use...
however, Move Silently is typed in WITH the space.

NOTE! You can't do this with Sundren custom skills since DMFI isn't cool enough to understand Sundren skills

how about .roll craftalchemy in the normal chat bar?

It's not possible to bluff a specific person fx, or do you just need to have said person targeted? (that exquisite moment where you bluffed my character for no reason last night comes to mind)

I don't know of .roll works, haven't tried .

You can roll bluff, and then trust the person will have the decency to either roll some unmodified skill and hope they don't lie about their Sense Motive mod... I accidentally had you targeted, not that it mattered, but it's nice for clarification on WHO you're bluffing/diplo/intimidate etc I guess

It's .roll [skill] and needs to be entered into the DMFI language chat bar NOT the normal everyday press enter to type chat bar.

It can be a bit awkward with regards to the skill name, they vary a lot.

One bit of advice though, this type of skill rolling spams the heck out of the chat window and really isn't that conducive to good RP. To many times recently I've come across groups of players destroy any attempt at RP with skill spam.

Rein it in, keep it to relevant skill roles only (if you're not sure, discuss it via /tell with other players) and I won't have to slap anyone.
