  • Master of Radiance Question

    Hello all!

Regarding the Master of Radiance, the Sundren wiki has this to say:

Masters of radiance channel the pure, undiluted power of the sun. Often originating from (but not limited to) good-aligned druid sects that reveres the sun, they have a holy purpose to scour the world clean of undead. Wielding the sun's radiance as a weapon, they are the bane of any evil creature that lurks in the darkness.
My question is, does anybody know any specific examples of a sun-revering druid sect? What deity would such a druid follow? The reason I ask is, whenever I go to make a druid/MOR I can only think of Lathander as an applicable deity, and Lathander does not appear to be on the druid deity selection.

Is there another deity that would also work? Am I missing something totally obvious? <-- very possible =[

    Thoughts much appreciated!

I guess Kossuth would work ... but I was hoping for a deity that more spiritually would encompass the sun, light, etc - rather than elementally. Fire and sun are different domains, after all ... right?

The whole druid and ranger deity restrictions are a bit unflexible in that regard (Not that I think they shouldn't take religion seriously). It seems like you want your characters deity to encompass - all - of your characters aspects, and maybe that's not applicable?

The sun is as much a part of nature and the natural cycle, as is dirt, frost and air. Silvanus is a pretty good bet. I mean, you character can have silvanus as a patron deity, but still pay homeage to kossuth. Most people in faerun may have a patron diety, but they still pay respects to umberlee when they go sailing, Shaundakul when they travel, Tyr when they go to court stuff like that. Most of the other nature deities abhorr undead anyway. I should think pointing the sun at undeads work for all of them.

Maybe think of it as a way to add another aspect to an already great character idea? I've been thinking about rolling up a MOR too, it's a cool class. But you can't be all sunshine.

Chauntea comes immediately to mind as an applicable druid to MoR. She has very strong, ancient ties to Lathander thusly as far as applicable nature gods go, she makes the most sense.
