  • Strange clumps of items.

Over the past day or two, I've ran into two curious 'mounds' of equipment in rather curious places.. The first was inside the weapons smithy in Sundren city, behind one of the crates in the far back of the store.. probably had at least 30 different types of scrolls, plus a myriad of bandages, potions, savage plate mail, and so on.

2nd one was found in a bush right in front of the Sundren Gate. Again, had a ridiculous amount of scrolls, potions, a rabbit foot? and two silver alchemical rapiers or something.

    Is there a bug happening?

It sounds like someone is either deleting pcs and leaving a surprise for whoever might stumble across it, or someone is trying to mule, and you're ruining everything.

I would say that R3 is onto something. I would inform staff and keep an eye out for this in the future. Sadly I have no clever ideas of how to find out who it is.
Or you could just thow the stuff in a near by trash bin!

isn't there also a cleanup script that removes any dropped items ten or so minutes after the area is empty of people?

                    Winner, winner.

Also, thank you for bringing this to the attention of the staff. We'll certainly be looking into it.

I'd agree to a certain extent. However seeing someone log in and off several times doesnt mean they are muleing. about every two weeks I will log in as one character to do basic maintenance (organize the inventory, sell stuff etc.) then log off and log in as another character and do the same thing. Everyone knows how cluttered the inventory can get after a few days of playing. I'm not saying that is the case in this thread, just dont want to see people start pointing fingers at someone who is just taking care of their characters. I'm sure the staff has ways to figure all this sort of stuff out.

Indeed we do, it's something called character trending and what it does is similar to what MMOs develop. It shows us trends in characters that fall 'outside the slope' ... and while sometimes it may be legitimate, more times than not it's due to muling or other nefarious business.

Thanks for bringing this up though, as it never hurts to report things you find suspicious (it does help).
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
