I've always thought of it as being much like Scotland.

It's northern, rainy, miserable, rainy, windy, quite green and rainy.

I'd rather see the weather periods increased to cover half a day or a whole day than the fairly rapid changes we have now.

Although Sundren is located near an arctic environment, it is also fairly coastal as well, and from first hand experience that coastal areas near arctic environs, precipitation tends more towards rain.

That being said, the lands that compramise Sundren as well as it's northernly location would share weather patterns that are similar with Newfoundland... which I hate to say probably rains more than Sundren.

The Inns should serve Belhaven's Best then... If that were the case I could live with the weather.

I can set the time to whatever. So... 2 hours real life instead of 10 minutes?

Sounds good. Then it also works as a rough indicator for when you can rest, too.

I am for a slight variable from 1.75 hours to 2.25.

IF that is possible. I would hate to feel like we can set our watches to the changing of the weather. Though, to be honest, counting on a 2-hour clock is a tad silly; if the code for that is anything more than a simple math equation, skip it.

You mean simple as in this:

                      const float XP_WEATHER_INTERVALS = 600.0;

^ That's literally all I have to change (Thinks ahead probably)

                        Bad weather

As time is greatly sped up in game, is the frequency so unreal? A newbie here but thought the questions should be asked. Perhaps the speed of time in game is part of the issue in regards to frequency?

Depends on what area you're trying to emulate. For some places the weather changing every 2 real hours might be normal, in other places it won't change for 12-24 hours.

Since 2 game hours is only 10 minutes however, this feels unnaturally fast to most players, hence why a great many of us wanted that changed.

The speed of time in game will not be changing, every time it's asked about Saulus reminds us that a lot of work went into setting up the schedule and it will not be changed.

That sounds better than a straight time. I did say a rough guide: I'm usually so engrossed in doing things that I'm not going to notice the time until people start commenting about the damned rain anyway.

And since two in-game hours is still often 10 minutes of actual role-play, the disconnect can be somewhat magnified. Even with the significant increase in duration, there's still going to be some RP where the weather changes multiple times.

Bit late to the party, but I just got back from an extended hiatus, so yeah. Anyway, imo the fact that it rains so much in Sundren has become so ingrained in characters' minds that to reduce the probability of rain would make citizens of Sundren suspect foul play. Could always do a mass amnesia wipe, I suppose, or actually fit it in with RP.

But definitely change the duration to something more reasonable to RP with.
