The Abyss

I was wondering if access to the Abyss (20+ level area) was going to open back up anytime soon? I've climbed to the top of the Wizard's Tower on many occassions only to read the area was "under repairs," or there abouts.

Are there any areas in Sundren that are still challenging at level 20? Or challenging even for a party of 4 level 20's?

Just curious, because I've never gotten to that level before but it seems like a large proportion of players have at least one 20+ level character.

Currently the Abyss is DM event only, we do have something in place where you will be able to open a portal to the abyss once per day (its an item that respawns), as we wish to retain the epic nature of the Abyss and not diminish it by turning it into a tourist resort.

The duergar ruins near the Whurest dwarves continue to wipe high-level parties. It's an area in which uberbuffs aren't enough to safely steamroll the dungeon: an unkind dicebag in one encounter can demolish a party. It's a strange area, in that Dain and Tigen could 2-man it comfortably, but 5-man parties with full bard and cleric buffs have wiped; that may have had more to do with coordination and target selection than firepower. Haven't tried it since the rest update, though I imagine with the new restrictions that it's only gotten harder.
