Extended Non Detection works wonders, even if you have to throw in some RP to "go refresh your buffs" Though most Paladins on this server are absolutely terrible at playing one. As they think it is a license to break the law, that they are bound to, and kill anyone evil.

I am suspicious about anyone that speaks in rhyme and wears such unappealing headwear. If he starts taking breaks to reapply his makeup as well *shrugs as he walks away singing* Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,, na, na, na, na, Batman!Originally posted by Chiangtao View PostRemember, not all characters have spells. I personally hate when people use detect evil, only for the sake of the RP. If a character is in hiding, disguise, or even remotely trying to roleplay changing their ways , the outing as "evil" just even once could ruin months and months of strategic roleplay that was put into effect.
Sure, it's great and all for a paladin to do his/her job, but I'd much prefer a PM from the person using it before they do so. I think it's much more fun to find out through the actual "roleplay" and actually catching someone in the act then looking at someone like they just stole your cookies from the cookie jar, and wanting to smite them for almighty justice.
(Disclaimer: I didn't steal no cookies, possibly.))Characters:
Kore Phrixxus: Pain(Priestess) of Loviatar. Aisleyn Fairefoot: A whimsical hin with a shin-kickin' attitude, and a bow to back it up!
“Evil is relative…You can’t hang a sign on it. You can’t touch it or taste it or cut it with a sword. Evil depends on where you are standing, pointing your indicting finger.”

It seems there's a lot of confusion about the actions a Paladin are allowed (and required) to take as part of their strictures and code of conduct. I saw an exceptionally good, well-written, and accurate outline that I'm going to post for anyone interested. Whether you want to play a paladin, or if you're on the other side and merely want to know how to expect a REAL paladin to act... Here is the link: http://www.nwnthevast.com/rpresources/playpaladin.htm
There are slight deviations in Faerun, of course, and there's also a list of common traits by deity. All of this is directly from the source material with just a little bit of common sense judgement calling tossed in.Active
Reinamar Stormseeker - The bladestorm that must turn back the wind. Arkerym of The People, practitioner of the forgotten art, pariah.
Tyler Penleigh - Obligatory author insert, Red Blade Defender, sarcastic jerk, caring brother, loving fiancé, war criminal.
Retired/Dead
Eirimil Gaelazair (Dead)- Bitter. Caustic. Abrasive. Egocentric. Probably right. Found dead in the burned-out Viridale forest a few weeks after the survivors were able to sweep the area after the Bloodmaim offensive. Aside from his usual attire, an intricate music box was the only thing in his possession.

Used to play there, many years ago. Super slow advancement, only a few magic items with minor skill bonuses, rest was mundane. Permadeath. Level 6 was a pretty good achievement. You had to be recognized by the staff as an upper tier RP'er just to get access to full plate.
Hell of a server that shaped a lot of my views on how a world "should" be.Originally posted by CornutoGlad everyone's being extra fucking ridiculous today.

Hmm... No sources quoted for a large portion of the content, interesting though, and a lot of it is worth keeping in mind. There are quite a few bits I'd disagree with though and I'm glad we don't have things quite that restrictive here.
Still, plenty of food for thought, and it's reminded me of happy days spent playing the old Chaosism Pendragon RPG. Might have to get myself a new copy of that..It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

I just use the FR wiki when I play religious classes, which doesn't stop me from despising the way paladin's are/were implemented in D&D as a whole, I believe it shouldn't be a base class or even A class at all
The whole Archon of Justice/Knight thing can be done in other ways and Clerics can fill the niche Paladins fill just fine (Since clerics can easily be labled as religious warriors)
But beyond all my extreme points of view all I have to really say is if you play a class so affected by religion actually research it (class and faith)beyond reading the NWN description of a paladin."Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."

A Paladin really is defined by the god the Paladin Worships. If every paladin had the exact same code of conduct and beliefs in the way things had to be done then Every Paladin would worship the same god. NWN and and some D&D books had some poor choice of descriptions of Paladins. I agree with Doubtful, Thank god the class evolved away from those booksComputers is can solve a problem on kids. Using computers, kids be learn what he need, and this why computers used.
