  • Does create greater undead work as per default NWN2?

...or have the Dev team done some groovy tweaks to it? I am going by:

    Thanks!

Almost all summon spells have been modified by the dev team, offhand I believe a few had their spawn times adjusted because they were too low... almost all the summons have been modified to be stronger and/or more useful so it would be more practical to be a summoner in Sundren.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I am actually pretty pleased with the 'Neutral' alignment Summon Creature and Greater Planar Binding. I do not have standard Planar Binding, and Lesser Planar Binding turned out to be a bit weaker than a summoning spell two levels lower than it - but, eh. Overall, not bad. I would like for the duration on the Summon Creature spells to be extended a bit, but that's a person opinion.

Bad guys really seem to have the best, though, since the Death Knight created by Create Greater Undead and the Bane-specific 'Animate Dead' summons are ridiculous for their spell level and completely demolish all other summons.

If there's other summons that feel totally useless or underpowered feel free to make a suggestion just keep in mind we won't get to it right away.

A mantra of Sundren development tends to be "If it has no use, give it purpose, otherwise trim it". I think that is reflected in many skills / spells.

Obviously having more spells/summons or feats that are useful as opposed to ones no one uses will be a better for everyone.

The Angel summoned by either Lawful of Neutral Good characters at Summon Monster XI is missing its weapon, otherwise it's a great summon, though the intimidating presence of this summon is lost cause it comes out swinging... Its fists.

The evil summon through Greater Planar Binding (Erinyes)is a pretty sad one. 85 hit-points, +14/+9 AB, 23 AC, 1-8+7 Damage (19-20x2) and never uses spells or abilities.

Edit: It sometimes casts a DR16 Doom and DR18 Hold Person.

The Pale Master's Mummy Lord and Elite Vampire are pretty sad as well but the other bonuses the Pale Master gets kinda evens that out. Sadly, though, those two summons are so lousy that they end up being RP only. The Elite Vampire's only redeeming quality is it's ability to tank PvE due to it's DR and Regen.

Pale Masters, like you said, are pretty great now. They don't need any help.

Would like to see a good variant for Gate.

Create Greater undead sucked pretty much as per standerd NWN2. As a Master of Shrouds you can summon Shades half a dozen levels before you even get Create greater undead :S

Anything the sundren team has done to alter it has to be an improvement!
