It's about time, right?
The DM's have discussed how we want to redo the RPOTM contest, with a small try out a month or so back to see how it went. We liked the results, so we're going to be reinstating the RPOTM rewards. We really enjoy reading your prose and ideas, so we think this will be a better opportunity for people to really express their creativity.
Every month a new thread will be posted, where you guys will type up and leave an exceptional bio and (optionally) RP post about the PC. Everyone gets one vote, and will send them in to the DM's to tally. The bio/post with the most votes will win, and the second most will be runner up. In the case of a tie, the DM's will vote for second place. The emphasis on this contest is to provide a unique biography that will encourage good roleplay. The story portion can help get your ideas through to the audience better, but it is by no means required. After consideration, we're going to give this method a shot and see what you guys come up with.
Keep in mind that the bio's you post will not necessarily be approved if you win. If there's too many of an ECL race or class, we might ask you to pick something else to play, or hold out until the population goes down.
If you guys have any questions or need any clarification, please post below! The first contest is for this month, and the ending vote date will be Sept. 30. The final day to post a bio/RP post will be Sept. 25
There's a 3000 word limit for the combined post in total. You may win first place once per calender year. PM your posts to me, and I'll put them up without player names.
