  • So you want to be a Thayan

    Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,

I am DM_Sapphire_Phoenix and with DM Kasso's help will be taking applications to join the ranks of the Red Wizards and Thayan Knights. Now this being said, just because you apply does not mean you will be accepted. I will be taking applications for two weeks, where the first of many events shall be kicking off.

Now for the Rules of this little party=

First off for Red Wizard applicants:

    1) Name, Age, School of magic
    2) You must submit a detailed background
    3) Your Character WILL BE bald (no exceptions)

Secondly the Thayan Knight or other applicants:

    1) Name, Age, Weapon of choice
    2) Detailed background

Please PM all of the applications to myself or DM Kasso, Good luck to all who apply and if your not chosen this time do not give up hope, there is always our next set.

    Love,
    ~Sapph

    But.. What about the females?

Even the women are required to be bald.

Tattoo your head so it looks like hair, like the pros.

Why in the worlds would a Red Wizard want hair?

For a start it'd be an offense to their status as good folk of Mulan stock . Only slaves and filthy outsiders have long hair, the wild Rashemi for example are as hairy as the beasts they rut with and worship.

There are also practical considerations. Hygene is of paramount concern, unlike the stinking hairy savages the decent Mulan peoples are easy-wash and near-immune to the louse infestations that dog hairy savages.

The mages workshop is also made considerably safer by hairlessness, the threat of singed eyebrows or barnet immolation is removed, as is the risk accidentally adding a stray one of your own hairs into a potion or spell reagent. It's hard to comprehend how Elminster has gained such power as he's constantly adding the unwanted reagent 'Hair of Cretin' to his spells with his shabby beard and dirty-foreigner hair.

Politically speaking hairlessness is also a benefit; your political enemies cannot slyly cut off a lock of your hair or pluck a few stray ones from your hairbrush to target you with some extra-dimensional assassin beast, meaning one less thing to worry about.
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

Granted a few nobles/Red wizards DO have hair, but they're super rare and in the lunch room everyone talks about them behind their back.

Former Zulkir Maligor had hair. It got him killed by a plot from Szass Tam. I think that's all we need to say about that.

Its a trap, don't do it.

After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box.
