Monk isn't really 'brutish'.

I saw a female orc monk one time, going for the crazy movespeed, and canonically it has a lot of backing, since female orcs are seen as massively lower in orc society, though also tend to be more controlled. The God of homestead, family, and women in the orc lot isn't as mad as all the others, and if I'm not mistaken I think there's something approaching a monastic group of then.

I had a female orc monk/cleric of Luthic once. There is certainly an RP backing, and I think even Luthic's weapon of choice is the unarmed strike. There's actually a couple of orc monastic orders that I was able to find some mention of. Unfortunately, I haven't found any really detailed info on them.

As for my new PC, I've decided what I'll be playing, his backstory, and his (probable) feat selection. Best part is, I even have spare feat slots for RP feats without gimping my character! I'm looking forward to introducing the server to him. (Spoiler: He's an orc)

Some of my favorite moments on the Baldur's Gate server were when my rogue/fighter/IB/shadowdancer Seril was stalking some hated foe through several zones, waiting for him to separate himself from company. Great times.
