Do these potions exist for sale by a vendor? If so, then which vendor carries them? As it is kind of lame having to resort to Meta gaming or waiting 4 hours till someone logs on that can restore level drain. Scrolls of restoration exist but if you don't have UMD skill then you have practically no ability to use them.

No, I don't believe any vendors sell potions of restoration. I personally don't see how encouraging players to go out and roleplay with divine casters is metagaming. Additionally, Clerics, Druids, their variants, High level Paladins and Rangers can all restore level drain. All of which Sundren has a fairly good number of, so unless you're logging in the wee hours of the morning... I don't think you'd be waiting four hours for a restoration, unless you weren't looking.

Let's just say it can be a challenge at times to find, among the handful that are logged on (at least whenever ~I~ look), someone able AND willing to ICly aid that particular character - particularly if none of the handful are any character that your character knows, and/or have search disabled.Originally posted by Kasso View PostNo, I don't believe any vendors sell potions of restoration. So....it's inconvenient to have to go and find a cleric, roleplay with them so that you eventually become friendly enough for them to cast said spell, and maybe even be willing to raise you should that unfortunate circumstance comes up? As for the number of people with Restoration, Kasso is right, I can't spit anywhere on the server except for around maybe 1am PST and not hit someone capable of casting that spell. Besides, if a cleric isn't willing to cast a spell just out of the goodness of their hearts because they don't know you, why not...I don't know, pay them. For a spell. An odd concept for some, but trust me, It'll probably work. Just ask Handsomegamer. His character Kyle is barely tolerated by my Character Tigen, but I still heal him when he pays me to do it. Just because a healer doesn't have an IC reason you help you for free, doesnt' mean he won't help you for pay, just saying.Tigen Amastacia: Died in events so you didn't have to.
Quintin Ulsteris: Nice-guy Legion engineer, deceased son of House Ulsteris.
Clandriel Cain: AKA "Fire-eyes" AKA "Demon hunter" AKA "OH MY GOD, WHY IS HE STILL STABBING ME!!??"

most of the clerics that are out and about are Arbiters (or aligned with them). I doubt they would knowlingly help someone of ill reputation. Sure there are clerics that have made "dubious life choices" but they don't usually hang out at the fire.
The one person I have see out quit a bit Is Anasath, next would be Tigen, so yes it is possible. That is of course assuming that everyone isn't behind closed inn doors quietly plotting doom, or doom's doom
Although Kyle is "barely" tolerated, he's still basically good (when lines are drawn) and certainly isn't a banite or murkylite.Butch: "You know, when I was a kid, I always thought I was gonna grow up to be a hero."
Sundance: "Well it's to late now."
Toons:
Mittens Whitepaw (Feral Druid),
Rose Thimblefoot (Simple Seamstress),
Melody Mourningsoul (Cursed Bard)
Katalina Zephyr (Guardian of the Grave)
Gabrielle Dumoine (the Duchess of Waterdeep... 'onestly...)

Just reminding myself the OP was asking about potions of restoration (incidently, I love the suggestion of temple convo option for restoration).Originally posted by MournasDo these potions exist for sale by a vendor? Sorry but it irks me when people start dishing out on folks for asking reasonable questions by insinuating that they must obviously have an aversion to RP because I have never have an issue with it, so obviously that person mustn't be trying.
Kudos to you for being able to RP with whatever-your-pc-is-named and what's-his-face. It might come as a surprise to learn that not everyone is blessed to share your same situation. I've heard people gripe about the woes of only playing with server population of 10... Well, I've danced for joy at the prospect of having 4 other souls about when I log in - for us that's pretty neat (and rare).
And don't get me started on some of the fonts of RP wisdom that have been gushing their waters of sageness for we plebs, o ye of 4+ hours camped in AFK in the wee hours.
Oops, that's right, I accidentally stayed logged in... the same bat-time same bat-channel, day after day after...
Oh yes and that server pop of 5 (the original 4 plus myself) turns out to be in reality only 1-2
(Sorry to get a little off topic Mournas - and yes I'm aware of the irony in light of my first paragraph
)

This happened to my mate's character, we enjoyed some rp at the temple of helm with several characters who had to get a big gun of Kelemvor in. After a lecture he was restored.
I really liked it, especially as before hand we were up the cold climb lost with the meatshield character several levels drained. Was the best time tense time.
I like the system gritty, in fact when there was no easy restoration, i though "what an awesome sever" but then that s my tastes. I hear that it makes it too hard / inconvenient for other play styles, fair enough.
As a suggestion in the mean time - avoid areas where the monsters attacks are like cold tendrils of death sucking your soul.
I have a cleric that can cats the spell so if you see SHEDBOY logged on - send me a tell i will would love to help out. I'll make myself available at a suitable site and we can rp it from there.
Most rp is contrived, some more than others. We all work within limitations of this grand fantasy soap opera. Judging by the level of emotionality on the forum, i think we are all great melodramatic actors
kudos to us all. We are artists, how can we rp under these conditions.

This is something I agree with. Hell make it cost a lot, and even up the price of resurrection for all I care. Have multiple options like Raise dead, Ressurection, and Restoration. If that isn't cool then well guess we just gotta deal with it then.Originally posted by Doubtful View PostIt'd be nice to have restoration as a conversation triggered spell in the temples."Service to a cause greater than yourself is the utmost honor you can achieve."

Like the cleric vendors in baldur's gate had. A choice of spells and an attached price regardless of ethos!
But as has already been said it is hard to spit without hitting a divine caster most days of the week
Originally posted by roguethreeIf I had my way, clerics would have spell failure and a d6 hit die. And Favored Souls wouldn't exist.
