  • About this ROTM thing..

Just wondering folks but is this still in effect?

I was browsing through the wiki to educate myself upon some of the finer points of the deities on offer when I stumbled across the roleplay of the month award page. I could not help but notice that the last listed rotm award was apparently given out back in April/May 2010.

Considering that access to a large proportion of Neverwinter Nights 2 races has been restricted to those lucky and hard working individuals that get voted for the award I was wondering if/when the voting might take place?

I would not mind trying my hand at a couple of those races personally and I am sure that there are others who feel the same way.

So.. yeah.. does this happen any more? or are those races lost to us forever?

    Cheers,

    Delexos.
Until I can somehow magically discover, hitherto unknown, skills to make a nice looking sig pic to represent my main chrs -

I primarily play Ignus Pyre and Smithy

RPotM continued past those posted winners, but it hasn't been run in a number of months.

I think it should though, there are a few character builds I want to do but will not even attempt them because of the lack of stats that the core races have. I have two in mind that I scrapped because it wouldn't be advantageous to me with such a low stat spread. This cant be made up in Sundren due to the low enchanted magical items. This also puts a huge damper on certain classes as they revolve around low damage weapons and have lower BaB hitting those higher AC players and mobs ((Paladins and Clerics ... more so clerics))

I love the fact that your main concern in a roleplay orientated vote, is about the great powerbuilds you're missing out on.

          Doubt's right.

I remember talking to DM Chipmunk about attempting a build I found online, but you know what I told me?

          He was right, too.

That seems kind of rude: talking to yourself while having a conversation with someone else.

Wowser, I can see this getting locked!

Before saulus comes with his rod of unholy smiting Ill give my two cents
It would be nice if RpotM would get up and running again but I see alot of the time people are on at odd hours and often not realiably odd hours (if that makes sense) so to actually judge roleplayer of the month based on a few hours a week when most people are on (which in no way means the best roleplayers are on) seems kinda unfair on the people who try their butts off during the low periods when getting someone to rp with is difficult!

It hadn't been run cuz websites were in fluctuation. Functions that managed it were borked.

Is that linked to why the statistics and player options scripts dont work either? I believe saulus said it was because the webhost no longer supports the function or something like that.

Nah, DMs were having us PM our votes in, and they tallied the votes by "hand." It dropped off because whoever was running the show went AWOL.

A very perceptive comment, Thief. And I did understand the "odd hours" thing. Maybe because I'm one of those odd-hours people.

On the other hand, I don't know how the problem might be overcome without having an insanely complicated voting system.

You realize you're agreeing with me right?

The functions are borked so nobody is doing it. That's why it's not being done.
