1. When taking a role-play action that could be contested, allow other players the opportunity to contest it.
2. When adventuring, if you find a person or group ahead of you, either attempt to join them if it's in character to do so or let them move ahead and go do something else. "Leapfrogging" a slower moving group is rude and inconsiderate of other people's play.
3a. When in a group, don't loot a boss monster unless you're taking the quest item, as well. Due to the OOC nature of these repeatable quests, the boss's loot should go to whomever will be remitting the quest item. You will have / have had your turn.
3b. For monster drops and chests, agree on a looting guideline. Some ideas include:
*Finders=Keepers (free-for-all)
*Need before Greed (free-for-all, with the caveat that items useful to a particular character are handed over without argument)
*Gentlemen's Agreement (everyone shows restraint in looting, approximating a fair loot deviation)
*Share the Wealth (all loot is pooled and divided evenly at the end of the excursion, either by item or by selling it all and dividing the gold)
**Draw Straws (variant on Share the Wealth: players roll a d20, with the highest choosing first; if loot remains after all players have chosen, the last-choosing player chooses again, followed by the second-to-last, and so on)
4. Walk, don't run. You're losing the chance to RP with your sprinting about, and it's hard for DMs to catch you and do something for/with/against/around you.
5. If you mean to ignore someone, ignore him/her through an emote instead of complete inaction. Nonverbal role play goes a long way toward inclusion.
6a. Write a character description. It helps other players interact with you based on physical traits and fleshes out your character.
6b. Read character descriptions. They help you interact with other players based on physical traits and clues contained therein.
6c. Do not dictate reactions to your description within your description.
7. When in nonhostile locations, be searchable, as this allows other players the opportunity to find you and enjoy role play.
8a. Try to include meaningful RP with CvC conflict.
8b. When able, try to give an in-character indication of impending CvC. When not able, an OOC tell is courteous.
8c. Do not use OOC tells as an excuse to buff, run, feign being afk, or perform any other action to avoid or prepare for CvC.
8d. If you disarm someone, do your best to return the disarmed item unless you're claiming it as the permitted 1-item prize for killing/knocking out an opponent in CvC.
