The script/s that fire when you reach 0-(-10) hp are they supposed to cause enemies to NOT target you until you get back to 1hp?

I think it greatly reduces your aggro, but I don't think they're meant to completely prevent the enemy from targeting you.

IMO, they usually just keep pounding you, especially when you hit 1Hp and try to take a potion.

From my recent experiences, they stop until you stabilize. Then they fire away. You are prone, so I think you are taking a hit to AC if you blast a potion they get an AoO. With however many attacks they get per round times the number of attackers plus an AoO for each and the low AC, well there is slim hope once you have been downed.

That is why you should (if at all possible) travel in a group.

No AC isnt affected as far as I can tell...and it has been my experience that groups are irrelevant for some reason NPC's will almost always pull off a PC that is attacking them...go hit the prone PC then sometimes swing back over to the attacking PC as if the scripts managing the NPC's are giving them conflicting instructions one after another...

I'm trying to get an answer from someone who actually knows what the script actually does...so I wont explode into another forum rant off conjecture...

I've observed the opposite, that mobs lay off incapacitated PCs and focus on the still-healthy remainder. Whatever the script's intended purpose, it's a pro-life (:P) notion and a little OOC for bloodthirsty monsters.

AI is a tricky, tricky beast.

Yes, the script is designed to get the critters to stop stabbing you in the face as a full time job while you lie bleeding on the floor.

No, it is not 100% guaranteed that the script will always stop them from stabbing you in the face as an occasional pass-time.

If critters kill you while you are bleeding to death it is not a bug, you will not get a free DM res.

              Simples.

See what conjecture does? He assumed I was after a free DM rez and managed to come off as cranky...

So to clarify what I really want to know...WHEN are the supposed to ACTUALLY start noticing the prone PC again?

You've not been paying attention have you? I'm always cranky.

I couldn't care less if you were or were not after a DM res - It was merely a comment on the whole 'not a bug' thing.

It should assume full retargeting once the player is back at 1hp.

                      It's actually, oddly enough, realistic.

In the middle of a melee, if one person goes down to the floor, you stop fighting them to focus on more immediate threats. Then you might stab them in the neck to finish them if you have chance when they show signs of movement.

I notice a lot when I knockdown enemies that my teammates tend to go attack other ones, since it looks just like they've gone down dead.

There's no reason for them not to stab you to finish you off when you're bleeding out alone.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

Actually when a knockdown fires it causes everyone to stop targeting the npc that was knocked down...Idk why...The problem I have with the script is an NPC will sometimes suddenly stop fighting someone then SPRINT about the equivilent of 30yds to "finish off" a PC that was knocked out earlier in the melee...I am going to create a suggestions forum sometime later today in continuation of this after I have had some time to think through the details

i have noticed the enemies with ranged weapons often still like to target you when your unconscious. I guess they have to get their kicks somehow, or give into the non-beserker killing rage, which is understandable.

I also notice that the computer likes to try and especially kill you off when your close to level, or maybe that's just my imagination / letting the guard down.
