  • Small RP group, any interest?

Having been playing this character, Jhan, for a while, and having a lot of fun, but also quite some boring time by myself, and having a hard time finding any other from my faction to interact with, I was contemplating making a 4-6 people RP theme group, if there's any interest in joining in on the idea.

As for the theme, I have several ideas, so I'll mention some of them:

    - A small family business/Cormyrian lesser house/guild of traders coming to Sundren to mine ore, chop trees and gather material for trading, as well as making ties with the local merchants to open new trade routes (would be relying heavily on the crafting system).

    - The crewmen of a pirate ship, stuck in Sundren after the Luskan barricade, having to find some excitement on land, for a change

    - A band of adventurers having traveled together for some time, now setting their eyes on Sundren. Good/neutral aligned, there are several small orders/companies in the FR to tie them to regarding deity and code of conduct

So, if you feel like making a new character, having 4-5 others to hang around and have some RP fun, perhaps even starting a few DM plots, please write a reply. We can always figure out the themes/characters later =)

I did something like this before with a few other players who don't play here very much anymore, I don't beleive. But when we did play I did have a lot of fun, having a cohesive group of adventurers to go around slaying monsters and role playing with each other. Was a good bit of fun.

Those are exactly my thoughts as well. A cohesive group adds a lot of synergy, not only to the gameplay, but also to the personalities and the interactions.

I've also done this with other people and it is a great deal of fun. The only warning I would give it to not have your characters depend on each other too much. When people leave or stop playing their character (which will happen) you can be left in a sticky bind if your roleplay depends on the others you started with.

I have a dwarven fighter who doesn't do anything, pretty much. I can offer said dwarf to the group.

I will join. We just need to plan times well because I have other obligations such as family and I am also working on my Masters degree and that takes a ton of my time. Just let me know.

              Jhickey, that's cool!

Gamling, I am rather keen on my first idea, that is, a house of crafters/merchants/traders, perhaps a dwarf fighter can fit in there, either as a miner, or perhaps a family guardsman - after all, Sundren is a dangerous place, they'd need some sort of muscle to protect them.

I imagine we don't have to be around one another all the time, it's allowed to solo or meet other people, after all, but planning to meet up a few times a week would be neat. I'm on EU time so I guess I'll just try and fit in with all you US people.

So far we have Gamling's dwarf, Jhickey, me and another player whose new character can fit in easily with the rest of us. So, basically that leaves us with one or two slots left. I'm thinking of giving it a few days more, and then get it rolling =)

Can we make a private forum for discussing the details, or do we need some admin to do that for us, anyone knows?

A private forum is likely right out, as that's reserved for real factions. There is, of course, nothing to stop you from grabbing a free ProBoards forum, or whatever. ^_^

Heh, figures. Well, we can always use this thread for now, it's not like something sneaky and devious stuff is going on (yet!), but mainly to spare everyone from all the spam. Anyway, it seems like the trade/merchant guild is the idea that fits with most people's characters, so we'll try and fit with that theme!

                        Thanks Dragor!

We now have *drumroll* a social group!

                        http://www.sundren.org/forum/group.php?groupid=18

I've invited the people who have shown interest in the idea so far, once we get the entire group assembled, we'll use that group for talking over the details.

I've tried to do this a few times before, but it's always ended with the other players either giving up their toons or just generally people losing interest, so I don't think I'll join in I'm afraid.

Aw, that's a shame, Urithrand, Starrizer is in as well now, so we're 5 at this time.
