The ordinance forbidding facial coverings has been revoked for various reasons which I hope some people can understand.

However, during the discussion of such things it was determined that some of our more OOC'ly rebellious players may try to "Stick it to the man" on this law revocation. I'd hope this would be common sense, but just in case I'll just say this.
Previously, the fact this was a law meant you could be arrested simply because you had a face covering on. Face coverings have many uses in day to day society. Spending guard resources making sure everyone was visible makes no sense. It's cold in Sundren, some societies use face coverings in their dress, and some people really don't want to be recognized for reasons that may have nothing to do with illegal activity!

So after discussing it, the inclusion of this law felt more like a means to harass honest people than to actually stop any crimes. With fantasy advent people are more likely to just walk around invisible than put on a face mask, or even polymorph.

Obviously, however, wearing face masks while doing certain activities will make you appear suspect. If you go into a weapon shop in a ski mask, you might look like you're trying to rob the guy. However I figure this should all be common sense.
Yet, players being players, they sometimes misunderstand the lack of a law to mean they can do whatever they want and not get trouble for it. Because the law went away some people may feel they're somehow immune to being asked to remove it. Just because it's not a law doesn't mean a guard can't ask someone to show themselves. Compliance with law enforcement is a day to day activity and should be common sense for those not trying to start trouble for guards. Do we need to make a law "Do what the guards tell you"?

So please, use common sense, it'll save your ass.
