  • Stupid question about Duelist?

TCAT wants to know something about the duelist class, he is having trouble with his computer and asked me to place it here:

    ---
    Hi there !

I was wondering if it is possible to do a duelist with dual-rapier (The oversized-weap feat) and still get the bonus from flourish and the other things

    help?
    thanks

Several of the bonuses only apply when having nothing in the off-hand (precise strike for instance).

Other ones aren't affected in the least - Canny Defense (only lost with armor) , and aye: Flourish can be done as well with a weapon in the off-hand.

    Ranahlee: Perpetually Perplexed.

Sylvain Enoic: Young paladin of Tyr.

Along these lines, does anyone actually know how flourish works? I looked around and could only find that it added extra damage, doesn't have a per day limit, and has a 30 second cool-down. Nothing about how long it lasts (round(s), attack(s), or minute(s)/second(s)?).

      Any ideas?

12 second cooldown, it's just a type of attack (like Disarm). It takes a regular attack, and applies a potential +2d6 damage.

Unlimited uses, but as said: 12 sec. cooldown. It works when you dual-wield.

It's a single hit thing. Like a smite.

EDIT: Damn you Syphte for ninja-ing me. You're supposed to be a pirate, not a ninja.

The whole concept of the duelist is to be a one handed, single weapon combatant. Just wouldn't make any sense for a sword fighter to use two weapons (unless they sucked so bad they needed two). Two Bards have at it ;p

              That's kinda what I thought.

Think I'm sticking with straight fighter now.

Personally I still like swash/duelist. Despite the loss of fighter feats these two were made for each other

Up that parry skill, take some skill focuses and for god sake get improved parry!
