  • Faction Store Feedback

For those of you with characters in a faction, I'd like to get your feedback on the faction store you've got. Do you think it adequately covers most character-types that would be in your faction? If not, what holes need to be addressed. Try to step outside of your own character's needs and view what the faction would need as a whole. (If you don't want to publicly admit to what faction you're a part of, feel free to send me a response through PM.)

Just a note: as always we're looking for suggestions and constructive feedback here rather than just flat out complaints.

I'd say the Arbiters Alliance needs a bit more (like at least one ) in the way of something for mages and even rogues (Shadowbane stalkers would be a shoe in for the AA, but there isn't anything in there for them). The other factions that I have toons in seem to cover just about everyone (except maybe bards in BHoB... who sings the praises of the Tyrant Lord?). With Ixis, I think that Corps members will actually have an advantage over some people - if you want to know why, go make a Corps member .

Perhaps the Main stores could be a little bit of a broad base, and the Independent sub-factions geared more to the members needs? A little bit for everyone I guess. Blackwood seems to be just about fighters, no one else allowed for example, but the Exigo store seems to make up for some of that lack, but not all - They're Exigo, they should have lots of enchanter/crafter friends anyway.
Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???

Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.

I already made a post in the request forum but I'll post again here:
The Wardens of the Vale stores focus on Rangers. There's a decent amount of things for Druids, a bit of stuff for Nature Clerics, but Barbarians and Spirit Shamans are left with nothing.

The stores have a large amount of gear when it comes to bows, spears and hide armours. I can think of one of the spears to be good for damage focused classes, but it's very expensive and only works on enemies that are mostly absent from the server. As for the hide armours, they all focus on boosting ranger skills, and the good bows are restricted to rangers and/or druids. And the most powerful items are only good in the hands of the rangers.

My suggestion is to have Ironwood items. Ironwood breastplates for Druids, Spirit Shamans and barbarians, full plates for clerics and barbarians, ironwood weaponry (axes, swords, hammers, morningstars, sickles). More class restricted items for each of the classes, etc.

Oh, and crafting stations in the Faction!

I do not know about the other factions, but Exigo and the Corps De Grace are scarce on items for monks.

I'm not entire comfortable with making full plate that bypasses the druid armor spell casting restriction that easy to obtain, the rest sounds fine.

Here's my feedback on the items available for the Wardens of the Vale. Note that I agree with MadSeer's post above, though I'm really nowhere nearly as enthused about the perks the 'priviledged' classes get out of the faction stores.

I hope you'll forgive my critical tone: I've tried to be as blunt, truthful, opinionated and honest as possible from my point of view on this in the hopes that my feedback would be of constructive use.

            Ra'aman the Keeper's store:
            • Items covered in armors only go from 1000 to 5000 faction points.
            • Gear for followers of Umberlee oddly stand out. Don't they have a church in Port Avanthyr?
            • Weapons have interesting bows and arrows, though I wonder why they are in the more druid-intended store rather than Iauron's store.
            • The Druid weapon tab has an odd lack of an iconic druid weapon: the sickle. Adding enchanted and special faction versions would be in good taste, I believe.
            • The scimitar also appears to be under-represented in the store.
            • Some form of ceremonial dagger could be nice, if only for the sake of roleplay and smaller races playing druids.
            • Weapons also fall in the 1000 to 5000 faction point range, meaning there's nothing for higher ranked faction member to look forward to beyond that.
            • The same goes for the items under the trinket tab. 1000 to 5000 rep only.
            • Again, strange trend of Umberlee-related items coming up here.
            • I personally find the selection of trinkets available underwhelming. The one good thing for druid grants them extra 2nd level spells, but it's really only good for shamans because anytime a druid will wildshape, he'll lose the benefits of the extra spell level. The only thing that stands out for me is the Ring of Hiding, and it isn't really all that incredible.
            • This said, the Wardens of the Vale appear to have a significant lack of two sort of good skill boosting items that would match the core classes involved: perception skills like spot, listen and search; and stealth skills like Move Silently and Hide. From what I hear, other faction stores for factions with sneaks of their own have significantly better on hand.
            • The craftable magical item/misceleanous tab looks nice... though I'm personally disappointed there's no way to get a glove item that would grant +3 dexterity because I'm quite happy with my belt of strength +2, and yet I'm stuck with an uneven dexterity score. =P

            Ranger Lord Iauron's store:
            • Armors lack gear for Guides (10 000rep) and Marksmen (20 000rep). Watchman gear is limited to only 2 items as penultimate acquisitions which don't stand out very strongly for me as the present 'penultimate' faction armor (though I speak from the bias of having a +3 mithral breastplate). Adding penalties along with the bonuses also fails - in my opinion - to make the items be sought after.
            • Weapons do have a lack of utility in the bonuses they provide against creatures. Narrowing the list down and making sure what is there is useful would be ideal, in my humble opinion.
            • Weapons have a lack of Guide-tier (10 000rep) items.
            • The Primal Wrath of the Glade longbow is a shadow of its former self. Luckily, its price is also no longer the prohibitive 190 000gp it was and the weapon still mostly accomplishes the same job it did, just with less bells and whistles. Haste for 5 rounds once per day is not a very appealing ability and I find it goes mostly unused (not worth wasting a round to cast it when you could just keep full attacking and get as many attacks in).
            • The Boundless Wrath of the Glade is the only Marksman-tier weapon available, and it's a rather disappointing one for someone whom would've been looking forward to upgrading from the PWotG. Unlimited fire arrows just isn't a good enough selling point for me, especially considering that you lose out on the Mighty property for it.
            • The weapons could use more longswords and greatswords. Not every woodsman is a dual wielder and not everyone of them use a shield when not using a bow.
            • Big absence of potions. Not a big deal, though, since the Keeper's store covers that need nicely and more thematically.
            • Absence of trinkets, which is more noticeable. This tab could really use the addition of items which would make woodsmen that much better at doing their jobs, really - things to look forward to as your reputation rating rises.
            • Misc tab could've used forestry, woodcutting and bowmaking items for thematic purposes.

The Black Hand could use +2 , +3 enchanted weapons for fighter/black guard types.
Typical Black hand members are clerics or black guards with the very rare arcane magic user occasionally seen.

An Only Useable By property could do it. Or ... well just another kind of full plate. I can say there's literally nothing useful except the Stone Chiseled axe and maybe the Render axe (then again it has an Attack bonus instead of an enhancement bonus) for a barbarian.

As it is, if you're a Neutral cleric or barbarian that wears full plate in the Wardens, you're better off buying all of your equipment in the Temple Barracks, which is a public store. And in Sundren.

A large selection of metal armors in store implies someone is doing a lot of mining and smelting....

                  Just a thought.

Since the Wardens are the only really feasible faction for barbaric types, some items suited to them would indeed be nice.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

The warden store carrying more Perception gear would be splendid, along with trinkets that are more nature oriented. I do agree with Zoberraz, that there is quite a bit of Umberlee gear in our store, but no love for Silvanus worshipers. But perception gear would be greatly appreciated.
Tigen Amastacia: Died in events so you didn't have to.

Quintin Ulsteris: Nice-guy Legion engineer, deceased son of House Ulsteris.

Clandriel Cain: AKA "Fire-eyes" AKA "Demon hunter" AKA "OH MY GOD, WHY IS HE STILL STABBING ME!!??"

                        Tigen... with more perception-boosting gear.

*double facepalm* What have I done??

I agree that the Warden's store isnt quite up to scratch (since they seem to be a popular faction). The Cartel/Eboncoin stores respectively are both pretty solid; I like the fact that some things actually grant bonuses that sneaky types would need: increased hitpoints, increased speechcraft skills, darkvision, dexterity bonuses ~ all very nice for that line of work and practically no sneaking class is left out.. maybe a thing or two added for the Arcane tricksters out there (There is currently only one item and its for bards).

Scythe? did somebody forget about this weapon?
I cant find anything not even a +1 weapon on that.
Its a forgotten weapon for sure. I would of taugh Legion faction would carry it but i think none do.
                            anyway...please let me know.
