  • Question about crafting appearance

I hate to start a new thread about crafting, but the subject is different and it's no longer a suggestion.

I recently finally saved up the 30k I needed to buy a set of +2 fullplate, only to find it looks about as naff as possible on my character. If I wanted to change what it looks like, how would I go about this?

Edit: For example of how crazy it looks, see here...

In the current system you'd need buy a Crafting dummy, or make one, and get some dye if you want to change the color.

I've got a load of random fruit + veg. I heard they were the dye stuff. How do you turn one into the other, or am I likely to have to find someone to do it for me?

It takes a recipe and alchemy (at least that's what I remember from reading one of the dye recipes).

So...if you have a crafting dummy, the dye, and the craft armor skill, you can dye existing armor?

Nope, think you can only customize the appearance of something when you first craft it.

Ah. That's what I thought, but your last post made it sound like the colors could be changed on existing stuff.

So an item that already exists is doomed to forever look that way?

              Such as store-bought armour...

Assuming you or some have the skills and equipment (dummy...), when you go to add an additional enchantment such as fire DR you can mod it then. There is still hope!

Most basic enchantments I've used so far do not allow a dummy option at all... this would interesting to test; it's always been on armour that I've enchanted stuff on though
Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???

                      Wait, seriously?

That has occurred during some of the enchantments that I had done. Keep in mind that we did not have a dummy available at the time so could not test fully.
