Ouch. Any suggestions on surviving these caves other then "don't unstealth, ever?" These bugs beat the snot out of me in two rounds every time.

    Party up then!
"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."

I've tried it in a party a few times! I still get purayed into halfling smoothie. And awesomely awesome great wizards seem to hate me by default .

Yeps Yeps! Those bugs are evils! Three of them took out a group of five like nothing and most of us were level 7 or higher :P *doesnt like being a halfling smoothie so stays away from bugs now*

Yeah...I think that unless I'm jacked up on scroll-crack or in the company of a small army, I'm going to stick to pursuading people to go to Sestra with me. I'd rather have no sneak attacks then put up with 3 attacks per round "challenging" bugs.

Bring a good tank with you. My level 5 fighter has expertise (will have improved expertise soon) which will help a ton. Though this probably does not sounds as much but my lvl5 fighter can easily take the bugs one by one which should mean that in a party of lvl7 people the caves should be doable.

.....Drashan, Barrigan, Genji, and Yashedeus had very little trouble with the caves...until Yashedeus turned on the other three after Genji fireballed himself and Barrigan .

I have no idea how it went so well, but a certain paladin taking most of the hits for everyone else probably contributed....plus Drashan sneak attacking the crap out of everything....and eldritch chain ftw....

And do not, do not, ever forget either scrolls of Protection from Alignment or a caster who can do the same, especially for your tank!

A confused high-level fighter with a greatsword + squishy mage / rogue characters = bad day.

Last time I checked, umberhulks aren't evil, thus protection from alignment will do nothing (unless the spell is broken)

                    I mean....they're just...giant ants, hm?

Wait... Wait. You can fall off the log? That just makes so much sense, it can't be true!

Its like that little white picket fence in alot of adventure/RP games. You have to walk all the way around it, possibly through hordes of foes. When simply. Could you just not possibly step over this little fench? Or just jump it?

FWIW, a level 8 character has soloed these caves repeatedly without issue, so it can be done without a group.
