  • Helm Raise (Bloodestone)

I had occasion to test the raise from the Abbot with two blood-stones this morning. It turns out that the raise with 2500 retains the exp deduction as if it were the 800 raise so... unless this is not how it is supposed to work, definitely wait for a PC raise. Have fun... if it is supposed to work like a PC raise when using the blood-stones would be nice to know.

Unless a signus is used, an NPC raise will always cost XP

Ahh ok....why the option to use the stones if there's still an xp penalty?

This is, essentially the point. There is no reason to use the two bloodstone npc raise. Its cheaper to pay the 800 gold.

With regards to the bloodstone npc raise, it should likely either be changed to raise at less of a loss, or be removed entirely.

If you're carrying the bloodstones, it takes those over the 800 gold... or at least it used to, unless that's been fixed.

A slight reduction in the xp penalty seems like a good idea.

Well if they're not useful for anything else, and you happen to have them... why not? Saves you 800gp :S

They cost 1000 each now Rustiron (so you pay 2000, not 800)... and they are useful for a few enchantments as well.

1000 each is in a faction store, for those of us that are freelance contractors its 1250 each.

Aren't they in drops too? Or has that changed? I know mine are from gem drops :S

As far as I can tell, the current situation is as follows:
                    - Buying Bloodstones: for those who need an immediate supply for enchantments
                    - Using Bloodstones to raise: for those who neither forsee needing them for enchantments in the near future, nor feel that they can sell them for more than 400 each.
                    - Paying 800 to raise: for those who feel they have other uses for Bloodstones other than raising, or feel they can sell them for 400 each or more.

As is illustrated, the Bloodstone raise does already have its niche (albeit a small one) without necessitating changes.

there are two different types of bloodstones in game (though they are both listed as "Bloodstone"). I find the ones you buy from the Helm temple are the only ones that work for a rez. The ones that drop I think are flagged different and won't stack with the bought ones or work for raises.

Well a problem I have run into with one of my toons anyway.

                      Toons:
                      Mittens Whitepaw (Feral Druid),
                      Rose Thimblefoot (Simple Seamstress),
                      Melody Mourningsoul (Cursed Bard)
Katalina Zephyr (Guardian of the Grave)

From personal experience, blood stones you find do NOT work for raising, no matter how many you have. for some reason, they do not stack and that seems to make them not work. i've had two blood stones from looting before, and it kept telling me I lacked blood stones to raise. Not sure if that's a bug or what, i just sell the ones I find and usually try to keep a supply of store bought on me.
