Besides, how often have you seen these things work out? BG had a lot of people volunteer for the group, but only two, maybe three people were legitimately criticized.

BG's group had the rule that you're not allowed to criticism someone in the group without asking them in the first place, meaning the group was pretty much pointless compared to just offering someone your thoughts.
Difference being, this thing outright says 'Bring on the comments' rather than 'I might possibly agree to take some kind of comment if it's positive and delivered with sugar on top and you ask me very nicely'.Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! ....I don't see why, but from what I know, Marxism is about disliking capitalism and the ability of a rich minority to control the poor.

Sadly I don't actually know anyone who's lived under Marxism. From my five minute search, turns out it's a political system with potential that fails because of human greed.
Can't help but thinking we're veering wildly off-topic, but really, if anyone wants to help educate me on why exchanging thoughts and comments on roleplay is reminiscent of a generally hated political system, feel free to send me a PM.
Any more thoughts on the topic at hand?Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:

I can see where you're coming from Root, and in theory it's a good idea. That said, I'd advise against having it take place on the public forums. This is only my opinion, but having had a fair bit of experience moderating them I'm pretty sure the endeavour would go south (QA posted something about being able to see which threads will go bad from the first post or two, and I'd surely agree, as would most others I think). That said, a part of the reason for that is that everything's being posted in full view of the whole community, so people are more inclined to become defensive as they're being called out in front of everyone.
I think the friends feature allows private discussion groups to be set up, although I'm not 100% sure about that. Maybe look at doing something there, so that way only the people who want to join are seeing the posts.
Off topic
As for the whole Marxism thing, I'm sick of people throwing that word about! It means very little (basically nothing) without context or qualification.

I like where that's going.Originally posted by Machiavelli View PostI think the friends feature allows private discussion groups to be set up, although I'm not 100% sure about that. Maybe look at doing something there, so that way only the people who want to join are seeing the posts.
Is it actually possible to set something up like that?Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:

Just checked the options and it is possible. Go to 'User CP', there's a 'social groups' option under 'networking'. That allows you to create an invite only group. Staff will still be able to get in and view it if you wish to call on outside moderation. You'd have to take on the responsibility of signing people up, but it's certainly doable.

Right, well, if people like the sound of that kind of thing, I'll do it.
So, anyone up for the invite?Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:

Well, the point of this thread initially was to see if there's any interest, so way I see it, we're still on-topic. :P
But yes, I might start up another.Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
