  • ingame gfx problem

strange thing, I'm out of ideas what could I do to resolve this:

game starts ok, but as soon I arrive at the shipdeck, all graphics disappears, only highlighting objects reveals npc positions:

    Did anyone experienced this issue?

    It's the Plane of Shadows!

There was another guy who had the same problem - I think he is a DM (or was). I think it was about drivers?

A corruption problem with NWN2 and nVidia cards. Using older nVidia drivers often works, until they fix it (which might be soon)

      Quoting from another thread..

Other people report success by going all the way back to version 196.34 or 196.21.

The good news is that a nVidia software engineer has reportedly fixed the NWN2 corruption problem and it should apparently find it's way into a release patch eventually.

Roll back to nvidia driver version 196 if you can, that fixes it.

Also, the next major driver release supposedly fixes the problem.

Thank you for the fast response.

I tried the old driver method, unfortunately versions -196 do not support 4xx cards, and 197 are already bugged.

Second mentioned method to resolve this by turning off the skies in DebugMode, is not allowed by server...

Guess I'll have to wait for working drivers or rollback the gfx card...

          Thanks for the ideas anyway!

According to Nvidia, the fix is "awaiting roll-out"

            *hugs ATI card*

I was following a thread on the Bioware Forums where nVidia finally took some responsibility for this texture-drop bug...officially, nVidia QA says they're making it a highest priority bug to fix, and say it should be addressed in the next driver release...which should appear about a month from now...

Hopefully they read their own Press and will deliver...

Damn, I just installed the driver they released what - last week? And I was hoping this bugfix would be released with *that* update. Clearly not.

Nvidia have recently released the 258.96 drivers. So far they seem to have fixed the graphic corruption in NWN2. Do note they're beta drivers, still better than nothing for those who can't roll back drivers. Installed and having no problems so far.

I switched to the new drivers today, and I can finally see Trade Tier! No problems so far.

Ditto, got them on a few days ago, was very relieved (GTX480).
