Unless the actual hardware is moved, the downtime should not be that long, as the setup and testing can be done while the old one is still running. Question is, is it down because it is being moved at the moment, or is it being down the final straw for the servers getting moved...

True there are many ways to do this (thats my job). A second instance could be brought up and the only down time it the final SQL sync.

Not sure the set up for the gear (own, leased, rented) or the depth of the pocket book(s). All these are factors. If i knew more of the set up I could provide a better idea. Because I don't I went with the worst case (fork-lift method).

At least its cold....I wish it was cold. Its hot and humid here. I sometimes really hate Kansas weather. One minute its great and beautiful outside....next minute...your in the basement hiding from a damn tornado!!! I'll take the cold and wet any day!!
