Mind telling me where you're finding other players so easily?

I rarely, if ever, find anyone at all without using the search function.

      Hi, all,
I'm new to PWs and PvP. However, it does strike me that Searching purely for PvP is wrong.

Searching for RP purposes is definitely useful. It saves a lot of needless running around and hanging out just hoping someone will show.

I had no real idea about what the Searcheable toggle was until reading this thread.

It should be said, too, that the only time I've been attacked, I'm sure the rotten little SoB followed me in-game to where he tried to rob me.
      Cheers,
      Dave

I tend to do it, that if I am rp'ing, I will have searchable on. If I'm out adventuring, I keep it off.

I personally never turn off findable when I'm on a PC. Am I the only person who WANTS people to find me for conflict? Seems odd to make such a wonderful villain, then hide from the heroes all day

Let a hero come find me, it ends up in very enjoyable RP for me as we bash heads. It's not like I lose anything for PVP if I lose.

Gotta say, it generally makes me feel fairly negatively about the one doing it. If i'm walking alone in an area and I encounter two folks chatting, but the area on the search list appears to be utterly empty, I always get the thought

'Heck, do these people not want me to bother RPing with them? They clearly don't want anyone elses company by the way they're not letting anyone find them in searches'.

Whether it's true or not, that's the feeling I get.

I walked around with my searchable on all day today and had my first day with no one trying to kill me in quite some time. Maybe it's a repellant and I've been going about this all wrong...

I'm rarely searchable when i play Kharn......but always with my other 2 toons mainly because some of the bad guys always seem to avoid me for some reason......no idea why..

Why does the thread title make me think of a cheesy 60s music band? Or maybe a family of unobtrusive superheroes?

I'm searchable for the simple fact that people don't tend to PvP me. Nobody has, as of yet. Whether this is OOC help for the noob (which I don't like, if you have IC reason to kill me, do try, don't wait until I'm high enough level for it to be 'fair') or just because I'm lucky, I don't know.

May be something to do with the fact that most PC's seem to require a hefty buff time to be decent in combat, whilst mine will just turn and gut you as soon as you start casting.

In any case, I hope this encourages some folks to become more searchable. It's tiring looking around places that I believe to be empty on the off-chance there's an unsearchable PC I can force to RP with me.

I usually turn it off when doing anything secretive. Even two people in an area shows up as 'a few' on search. If people stumble by, that's all in the course of things, but sometimes it's helpful to have the flag down.
