      Why does wars exist?

What is the meaning of life?

These are all questions similiar to yours. All of them quite pointless, and with no answer to give, except for personal philosophical opinions.

Except the crashing of servers has traceable reasons, with no necessity to involve "personal philosophical opinions", making the so-called similarity in those questions void

You should be asking Obsidian, and the question should be more along the lines of "Why does the server crash when you knew over a year before it was out that people would be making PW's with it?"

Because Atari was going broke and decided to rush Obsidian so they could get some money fast. Obsidian did a great job with Nwn2, what with Atari breathing down their neck all year long. Now they're finishing the game up through updates.

I know server crashes suck bigtime, but I don't think Obsidian have done too badly, considering. At least it's stable enough to be playable, and Sundren seems to crash a lot less than some other PW servers out there. There's a certain one that crashes without fail every 15 minutes.

Black Isle made Baldur's Gate, and all of its subsequent sequels. Unfortunately, the studio has since disbanded.

And, yeah, Obsidian did a decent job... But not quite good enough. But, hey, I'm just thankful they're still making patches (Which I'm pretty sure they're not paid for...)

Most of the Black Isle folks are working at BioWare now. A few are with Obsidian.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
