Faction item stores have been hell on us to maintain in the past. This is because each rank people gain with a faction is a completely different store. This is also bad for players, because players have no idea what items await them when they grow in rank while they're trying to browse a store. There's also been conflicts of subfactions due to the fact some subfactions have different rank counts than others.
A new system will be in and items moved over to it very soon. Phantom is working hard on it as we speak.
In this new system, all items will be shown to the player, HOWEVER, in the item description you will see a message that tells you the requirements of this item to wear. For example, you may need to be a Magus with Hands of Mundus to wear a special robe or staff. Or possibly have so many reputation points with Arbiter's Alliance to wear an armor.
While I know it's realistic for anybody to wear any armor they get their hands on, this also has benefits of people being able to purchase items and hold on to them until they gain rank, and removes the possibility that a high ranking person will buy something like "Arch Wizard Robe" for an initiate to wear.
This also make development work easier on us because we only have to maintain a single store instead of multiple ones and the scripts become easier to manage.
