  • Question about the new XP rules - Not a Complaint, just a Question!

Is the curve determined by all characters that have been created on the server? I assume it must be so, but am not sure.

The reason I ask is I just created a char last night (well 2 nights ago but didn't log on at all yesterday) and he is already 315 xp 'above' the curve. So that tells me that the curve is only 1,100 xp roundabout. Can that be correct?

    Thanks!

I don't know the exact math behind it right offhand, but the curve is determined for each character.

If you had two characters, one you created a week ago and one you created today, that had the same amount of XP, you'll find the one you created a week ago will be further below the curve than your new character.

Don't know if that answers your question for sure. If it doesn't, I blame my tiredness and ask you rephrase, lol.

Ok, so the curve isn't really a curve based on existing characters, but based on the time it is determined it should take you to get to level x?

      That would make more sense.

Basically, you're allowed around 1200xp per day.

          Basically:

XP Curve = Current Date - (Creation Date + 5 Months)

So, as an Example, say you created your character on the 16th of February.

          XP Curve = March 16 - (February 16 + 5 Months)
          XP Curve = March 16 - (August 16)
XP Curve = 4 months to go before level 20

Okay, because I'm an insanely obsessive perfectionist, I made a chart.
Even with my perfectionism, without the -exact- variables, this is an estimation... A -close- one though.

            Week 0 = 3000 XP = Level 3
            Week 1 = 11400 XP = Level 5
            Week 2 = 19800 XP = Level 6
            Week 3 = 28200 XP = Level 8
            Week 4 = 36600 XP = Level 9
            Week 5 = 45000 XP = Level 10
            Week 6 = 53400 XP = Level 10
            Week 7 = 61800 XP = Level 11
            Week 8 = 70200 XP = Level 12
            Week 9 = 78600 XP = Level 13
            Week 10 = 87000 XP = Level 13
            Week 12 = 103800 XP = Level 14
            Week 14 = 120600 XP = Level 16
            Week 16 = 137400 XP = Level 17
            Week 18 = 154200 XP = Level 18
            Week 20 = 171000 XP = Level 19
            Week 22 = 187800 XP = Level 19

Now, I get this PM every day, so I'm going to poke you all.

If you think you can make a character, let it sit for 5 months, then power level 3 days and get 20, you're mistaken.

We track people's online time as well and their exp / hour. We can see people who just power level a character vs people who don't. So if you had that plan, be prepared to be banned when it's executed.

                Question should be answered. Closed.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
