  • Protect/Aura/Magic Circle Against Alignment Changes

After it was pointed out to me, these spells have been COMPLETELY miscoded for NWN1 and NWN2.

Currently these spells offer immunity from mind effects which includes... well.. just about everything that affects a person. This is NOT how the spell was intended to work.

The spell is meant to protect against mental exercised control of a person, which essentially is Domination, Possession, Charm, and Compulsion effects (Spells with compulsion descriptor). As such I'm recoding it:

It now makes you immune to sleep, charm, domination, power words (Including kill as per P&P), daze and shadow daze, and a few other things.

This will now allow you to be affected by what you can be affected by in P&P such as Fear, Illusion spells, and other mind affecting Non-compulsion effects.

There is a possibility I included too many spells or perhaps did not include enough, so if I see any of these mismatches I'll make adjustments, but overall this effect GENERALLY affects enchantment school and enchantment effects.

          Nice one GBX!

Now I won't feel so silly using those (currently completely redundant due to said coding) mind blank spells on my PC =)

Wow, I didn't realize that the protection from alignment spell protected from so many other effects. Its good to know it'll be dealt with soon.

As far as it's regular protections, I only noticed it protects the user from the Locate creature spell, which I thought wasn't a bad idea.

It protected against Detect Alignment and Locate Person in the past, are this still go?

Yes. There was spells meant to block these concepts in P&P, but I didn't feel like coding them.
