  • The Sky is Falling!!!

    Hey folks,

This is just a quiet plea that we all exercise some discretion in our posts with regards to "drama level." We try to keep these forums as open as possible and listen to all forms of feedback. But the tone of this feedback is important.

I, for one, don't enjoy reading too much drama and "ultimative" posts. Using descriptive words like "always" and "never" tend to drastically increase the drama behind your posts--and decrease the value it holds for the reader. For example, "good guys always get the shaft," or, "I never see DMs supporting the fishing community." A better way to phrase the above is, "good guys have recently gotten the shaft. For example,..." Or, "I haven't seen a lot of support for the fishing community lately. I'd appreciate it if the DMs..."

Also, cryptic messages alluding to problems you're having but giving no details get tiresome. I see these frequently when people are frustrated and decide to leave the server, but they surface elsewhere, too. It's not that we want you to aire your dirty laundry. If you're frustrated with Sundren, we'd like to hear your feedback in a constructive manner. If you decide you'd like to head to greener pastures, we understand, too. But leaving on a sour note is rarely a good idea.

No one likes to feel like an enemy on their home turf. Reading posts with high drama level just makes it feel we're your enemy somehow. And we're not.

If you feel slighted or angry about something, let's hear about it in a friendly manner. I'm always open for discourse if it is handled maturely. If you want to keep matters private, I'll happily chat in private messages.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect--not with simply what you say, but also how you say it. Thanks
