SOme bug me, some make sense even though they aren't likely the same in P&P. The one that bugged me last night mostly was all the protections giving huge visual auras. *shudders*

I'll give ya that some could be interpreted as they are on NWN2. The only detail that irks me is that it "gimps" the spellcasters a bit since the surprise effect of having something like Stoneskin and other spells that 'make sense' is gone with those visual effects :/ Since you can't cancel your own spells, with the exception of a few who state so, you also get stuck with walking statues and the like. Don't ya think spellcasters who developed the spells would want to be able to use it without everyone knowing they are so warded?

If it's a dungeon master's call, fair enough ("In my dungeon stoneskin does not turn your skin pebbly"). However, spells like Barkskin and Stoneskin - despite me not liking to look all barky, most especially in NWN2 cutscenes - do have some good flavor on their side for appearance.
While I'm not fond of the way they made the spell effect for mirror image be (in comparison to, say, the BG series) I have to acknowledge it does save the computer from having to generate 5 extra characters on screen and still illustrates the extra targets. Mirror Image is one of the unpleasant visual effects that likely have to stay to show that there are multiple images on a character ~_~;Maia Nanethiel ~ Moon Elf Female Ranger

Not sure if this helps, but here is something from the vault to create 'less obtrusive spellbuffs.'
