Here I am. Fresh out of the city, looking for somewhere to go at 4am to kill things, or maybe just explore. Bam first thing I do when I walk into the forest -right- as I load is I get hit by two gnolls and two goblins. Needless to say, I didn't last very long, I didn't even have enough time to transition out, and so I died. Kill the stuff you spawn, or atleast don't leave it at the transition areas. Is it so much to ask? ;/

I haven't been to the forest yet so I don't know where the spawn points are placed, but did you ever consider that the last one there might have been running away from the baddies? Or worse, gotten killed just before she got out?Kindra Vandurin- Warrior of Tempus

You are assuming a lot of things for being so new to Sundren... I'm not sure where you wandered off to, but do you know for sure that the gnoll spawn isn't right by the transition point?
Most likely the person who spawned them either had to quickly retreat or died like you did. So I am curious - did you go back and clean them up? There are places on the server where you can get ambushed and will be lucky to get out alive. I wouldn't be so quick to assume someone willingly left those spawns there when they could have killed them.Character(s): Isiolia Le'len, Elf Ranger

The Viridale forest has a spawn point for gnolls and goblins just when you enter. They are meant to be there.
Conclusion: the Mossclaw alliance does not welcome you in that particular stretch of the woods. Other players are blameless.Maia Nanethiel ~ Moon Elf Female Ranger

Surely you have to see things from my point of view a little before judging me with cruelty and what not. >
New to the server.
Took me 30-40 minutes to get out of the city and find potions/kits.
First mob zone I walk into I die in seconds. ;D
Noooo sympathy.

Ah, just take it easy. And you might rp a bit first, hm?
Ask around what areas are safe to travel to and what creatures inhabit what regions of Sundren. I'm sure you can be creative - and that might have saved you from walking into the mob.
Sure - you are eager to explore but seriously... just take it easy.
I have played a couple of times and have yet to see a couple of areas as my characters have had no reason to head there.Playing Asha'easaahae Illeleste & Frem

I don't think that's what Anauroch wanted to point out.
If you want to be sure you don't get smashed into a bloody pulp whenever you enter an area, try asking other characters where there are some safer areas. Even without the xp it's worth it.Kindra Vandurin- Warrior of Tempus

The so called bandits near the gate of the sunderer are ripe for the punishment as well... although they tend to bunch up and the guards there tend to slay them en masse

As many here have said talking to other people and asking for their advice is the way to go here.

I gotta agree here. I think it is a little cruel to have the spawn point for the forest right at the transition, considering you don't run into any monsters before that point and have no idea on how to judge what you might encounter. Atleast it gives you a quick escape routePlayer behind ~ Ohgmek

Having done a walkabout the land before talking to the people I do remember almost having my head handed to me in the forest. But I found it it exciting despite the blood-loss. Can't say what I found was at transition though, too busy running in a dignified manner.
Personally I do not engage in flaming in subjects like this....I have no clue how.
